Nominee Statement

Sangita Jindal earned her PhD in Physiology from the University of Toronto, Canada and became a high-complexity clinical lab director in 1997. Dr. Jindal has served on the faculty at New Jersey Medical School-Rutgers, and for the last 22 years has been on the faculty at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York as Professor and IVF Laboratory Director in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Women’s Health. She has mentored grant-supported translational research projects for a number of trainees at academic programs, and is also an off-site lab director of private and academic IVF laboratories across the country.

Deeply committed to the mission of ASRM, Dr. Jindal attends the scientific congress annually, and has been an invited speaker and oral session moderator on numerous occasions. She currently serves as President of the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART) and is a member of the ASRM Practice Committee. She was the Co-President of the Society for Reproductive Biologists and Technologists (SRBT) in 2011, and served as SART Research Committee chair from 2015-2020. Dr. Jindal is a five-time recipient of the ASRM Star Awardand has served on numerous national committees and task forces during her years of service to ASRM. She is a member of the Editorial Boards of Fertility and Sterility Reviews and the Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics, and is a reviewer for Human Reproduction and Fertility and Sterility. Dr. Jindal has published over one hundred and thirty peer-reviewed journal articles and is regularly invited to speak at international meetings and conferences.

Dr. Jindal has a unique set of skills due to her experience simultaneously directing high-complexity clinical laboratories in both academic and private practice settings. Her brand of leadership features strong communication and organizational skills, great flexibility and collaboration, and strategic planning. By combining academic strengths and private practice strengths, she has been able to build well-informed and empowered teams that are responsive and transparent to the practice as a whole and to the patient in particular. Dr. Jindal desires to continue making an impact by successfully fulfilling the duties and responsibilities of ASRM Director-at-Large.
